LEVERAGING THE BEST OF PALO ALTO
to help middle school students thrive
Students are supported by near-peer tutors, receiving customized academic support
At DreamCatchers, middle school students receive outstanding academic support from local college and high school students, who are eager to mentor and guide them through their schoolwork. Students are matched with a tutor for the school year, allowing them to develop a close mentoring relationship. Tutors serve as role models and expose students to opportunities beyond middle school.
What Does DreamCatchers Focus On?
Helping students build the tools and knowledge to complete schoolwork.
Math & English/Language Arts extensions to build competency in these core subjects.
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) to help in all aspects of the student’s lives.
We Strive to Have Our Students Be High School Ready
Our work with each student for the three years of middle school to help them become “High School Ready”. Based on research and conversations with PAUSD staff, we believe that the following attributes, behaviors, and skills will help students be successful in high school and beyond. We want them to be Academically Ready, Task Ready, and Life Ready
Key stakeholders committed to each student's success extend our impact into a student's home and school day.
Only together as a community can we close the opportunity gap
