Miranda Ying

Miranda Ying is an aspiring young professional with a passion for advancing equity. She was born and raised in the Bay Area, traveling not too far to Santa Cruz for her undergraduate studies. Graduating from University of California, Santa Cruz with B.A.s in Linguistics and Education, Democracy, and Justice, Miranda joined City Year San Jose/Silicon Valley where she served as an AmeriCorps Member in East Side San Jose in the first year back to in-person schooling. She continued her service as a Program Manager with City Year before joining our team here at DreamCatchers where she supported student success coaches in the launch of their professional development while working in service to students.

Outside of work, Miranda is also a captain of SNACKPACK Dance Collective and Taste Buds Training, based in San Jose. SNACKPACK Dance Collective is a professional exhibition dance team that was established in 2021 and Taste Buds was founded as a training team in 2023. The collective hosted their first ever Taste Test film festival in June 2024 where attendees enjoyed an immersive experience of the fusion between dance and film.

Miranda joins our DreamCatchers team as the Site Director for JLS and Fletcher Middle School, bringing years of education non-profit experience into the role. She hopes that through the DreamCatchers program, students experience a sense of belonging and empowerment in the diverse community of PAUSD
