Liz Fishman
Liz Fishman joined DreamCatchers as Director of Operations in July 2024. After working as a part-time grants writer for the organization in the spring of 2024, she transitioned to a full-time role incorporating fundraising, oversight of programs, curriculum, communications, events and external partnerships.
Liz brings a background in education, nonprofits and philanthropy to the role. Most recently, she was a 5th grade teacher in New York City from 2006-2018, teaching Language Arts and Social Studies at the Brearley School and Trevor Day School. At Trevor, she was the Lower School Curriculum Coordinator for Social Studies and served on various hiring and professional development committees.
Prior to teaching, Liz had a varied career in education nonprofits and philanthropy, working in San Francisco at the Bay Area School Reform Collaborative (BSRAC), where she focused on whole school reform in Bay Area public schools, and at the Full Circle Fund, where she helped the venture philanthropy start-up get off the ground. In Washington DC, she worked at the public affairs firm APCO Worldwide, serving in program roles in their Corporate Social Responsibility practice. She helped manage strategic philanthropy partnerships with clients including The UPS Foundation and the Annie E. Casey Foundation, and ran the Intern Program.
Liz has a B.A. in History from Williams College, and a Ms.Ed. in Middle School Education, with a concentration in Social Studies, from Bank Street College of Education.
